Report on Clean Business International 2012
TLV International Inc (Kakogawa, Japan) - Oct 29 2012
South Africa’s carbon dioxide emissions have risen drastically in recent years, passing from 368,611,000 metric tons in the year 2000 to 499,016,000 metric tons in 20091.
As the need for energy increases, it is becoming more and more important to learn about new technologies and solutions for reducing the country’s carbon footprint.
Clean Business International 2012, a conference that took place from Oct 2 to 3, 2012 at the Gallagher Convention in Johannesburg, South Africa, was held to help fulfill this need to further growth while using sustainable, environmentally friendly technologies.
The conference gathered members from government departments, business development organizations and professionals from various backgrounds with the aim of providing a discussion forum for strategies integrating clean technology, energy efficiency, water strategy and other carbon reducing solutions.
Having been invited to participate in the exhibition by JETRO, the Japan External Trade Organization, TLV was glad to take part in this important event.
Alan Williams, Divisional Manager at Heaton Valves, a distributor of TLV products in South Africa, was at the exhibition to help discuss methods for saving energy while reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the steam industry.
Following the exhibition, Mr. Williams said the conference offered many interesting displays from a variety of domains, and added that although the exhibition was somewhat small this year, he expects it to “grow and attract bigger organizations in the future.”
Mr. Williams also said that such exhibitions are an important step to help raise the awareness of the need for clean business in South Africa.
