iBPSSM.net® Awarded “Energy Conservation Grand Prize”
TLV CO., LTD. - 2022/01/26

TLV’s iBPSSM.net®, a wireless monitoring and management program for steam-using equipment in plants, has been awarded the highest prize at the 2021 Energy Conservation Grand Prize, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Award, in the business model category by the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ).
The award recognizes TLV's accomplishment in reducing the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of steam-using equipment through wireless monitoring and management of steam traps and sensors, combined with on-site inspections and data analysis and feedback.
These actions prevented sudden plant shutdowns and reduced steam loss, while enabling safe and reliable plant operation.
ECCJ credited the iBPSSM.net® program for its achievement in helping to prevent plant shutdowns and in detecting anomalies and enabling preventative maintenance to be performed.
In one case study at a chemical plant, plant shutdowns and the resultant energy loss, production opportunity loss and recovery work, could potentially have cost more than 25 million JPY combined.
The Energy Conservation Grand Prize has been awarded to companies that have achieved significant energy savings through innovative products and services since 1990. This is the third time that TLV has been awarded the prize, having first received it in 2009 for its energy-saving achievements in a joint project with Nippon Petroleum Refining Co., Ltd. (now ENEOS Corporation), and most recently in 2019 for CES Survey, a comprehensive survey for plant steam systems.
