Pre-maintenance
Polishing
Before
After
Use a nylon brush to polish the surface until a metallic luster appears.
Even if the blackish or burnt brown color is not completely removed, it can be used if surface debris and scale are removed and the surface is smooth to the touch.
Cleaning the sealing surfaces
Before
After
Use a scraper to securely remove the remaining peeled gasket from the sealing surface.
Remove the gasket in a scraping manner so as not to scratch the sealing surface.
Be careful not to strike the gasket, as dents may cause leakage.
When the orifice is difficult to remove (e.g. JX series)
Place the tip of a flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool on a flat surface away from the sealing surface of the orifice against and tap lightly to push the orifice out.
In this case, be careful not to touch the sealing surface of the orifice.
